Conference and Meeting Spaces

There aren’t many universities in the UK that offer meeting spaces in such a unique setting. Newton Park is a stunning estate with historic listed buildings complemented by some amazing modern spaces equipped with the latest digital facilities. We are only four miles from the buzz of central Bath and unlike most city centre venues, we offer parking for free as part of our packages.

Our spaces are suitable for interviews, planning days, team meetings, board meetings, away days and much more.

Main House Rooms

We have four rooms available for hire in Main House, seating between 8 and 26 (boardroom style).

  • MH.G14 Wedgewood Room
  • MH.G10 Billiard Room
  • MH.G15 Board Room
  • MH.G16 Sitting Room

Each room has its own unique style with ornate ceilings and historic decor including impressive wood panelling in The Billiard Room.

Three of the rooms are interconnecting and can be hired as a suite, with clients often using them to provide distinct spaces for refreshments and team working. All rooms have projection facilities as standard.

The Wedgewood room includes high definition video conferencing facilities for 8 to 10 person, and can facilitate multiple connections on the same call. We also offer the same facilities in our Commons building alongside a 20 to 30 person video conferencing space.

Commons Rooms

Opened in 2014, Commons is the University’s flagship teaching building fitted with a large variety of digital technology, a fully operational TV studio complex and 7.5m high media wall. The building conforms to the highest standards of environmental performance – BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) excellent.

We have a variety of rooms to meet your requirements, from small meeting rooms to spaces for large gatherings for briefings (up to 250 attendees). All rooms have Wi-Fi as standard, AppleTV has been installed in most rooms and we have a second Cisco video conferencing system available for hire.

Alongside our meeting rooms, we also have a number of ‘pods’ which are perfect breakout spaces for team working. The small pods seat five people and the larger pods seat eight. The large pods also include a built-in LCD screen with HDMI connection.

Something Different

If you are looking for that something different why not consider booking a meeting in our ‘Castle’, a 14th century tower, the only remaining part of the fortified manor house. The University’s archive is based on the ground floor and visitors are always welcome to visit and experience something different during breakout sessions.

Bus

Newton Park is well connected with the city, and is served by the 15 service that takes you from Bath Bus Station to the campus.

Timetables for term time and the holiday period can be found on the First Group website.

Cycling and nextbike

If you are looking to travel to Newton Park by bicycle we have plenty of bike racks and cyclist showers.

We are also members of the nextbike network in Bath, and their bicycles are available to rent 24/7 from any nextbike station. Renting a bike is easy using the free app, at the station terminal, or by phoning the nextbike hotline. Once you sign up as a member, you can then rent any of our bikes…all 20,000 of them, from across the UK in participating locations.
